Damage from Hurricane Ike (Continued)

Not sure where that tree even came from.

Almost every fence in the neighborhood was down.

This is our back porch, which used to be covered.

Kindof hard to see, but there was insulation all over the road and it came from this house.

There were trees all over the road. It was amazing how neighbors were helping neighbors. Some people were cleaning up their neighbors yards who had evacuated.

That is a tree that went through a brink wall. Don't know where the tree came from.

Oh more of our porch.

Trees in our backyard.

Fence on the side of our house.

And it even knocked all the fruit off our trees.

Traffic lights are all over the place. Hanging in the roads, twisted around, and even the working ones are facing the wrong direction. You can see the Valero gas station's sign that has been torn apart. Almost every sign and gas station looks like that.

Power lines and poles just laying on the road. Luckily this road was blocked off, but that is why it is taking so long to get power back on.

Poles looking like they are still falling. Only the lines themselves are holding the poles up.

Before we got power on we found a Kohl's Store that had power so we sat on the sidewalk to charge our cell phones even though we barely get service to begin with.

In the parking lot there was a big truck selling generators. Devin walked over to see how much they were. People were paying $1400 for these generators and they were ten years old. That is how crazy it is. We have seen people walk into stores and come out with $800 gas grills because they still don't have power.

Tree split right down the middle.

This is what the grocery stores look like. It is absolutely crazy. All the food they had to throw out because it had gone bad. All the empty shelves because people are starving. It is so sad.

This was a local grocery store that we had to wait in line for. They were only letting so many people in the store at a time. We were able to get some more canned food and drinks to get us by. There was no bread or anything like that. Just all that "healthy" processed food.

Oh wow! You guys have been in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully everything gets back to normal soon! We actually got a little Ike aftermath here in Ohio. We had some pretty strong winds (up to 70 mph) We lost some singles, which Tyler was able to fix. Many of people have been with out power. There were some trees down and siding off of houses, but not even close to what you guys got. Good Luck!

Hey guys,

Those pictures are crazy. That saying you don't know how lucky you are until you lose things. We are just so used to being able to go the store to get food or go to the gas station for gas. That is crazy. I hope everything gets back to normal soon. That means Shellie's body too. Just kidding. Hope the baby comes soon. Love you guys.
